In a Few Words

Rachel E. Meyer is a YA speculative fiction author currently querying her first novel.

The Longer Story

I know it's cliché, but I've been writing since I learned how. But it wasn't until I read Eragon by Christopher Paolini as a young teen that I realized being a writer was a viable career choice.

It took many more years and many more (subpar) novels before I finally began querying. I've nearly given up several times along the way, but I continue to feel that being an author is what God has for me. So, I trust Him to lead me down this difficult and sometimes discouraging road.

A few more fun facts about me:

I'm the oldest of six
My first novel was a retelling of The Frog Prince, inspired by "Joy to the World" by Three Dog Night
I dabble in poetry on the side
My music tastes range from K-pop to classical
My creative genes extend to music, art, and sewing

My Mission Statement

I write books to glorify God first. While most of my stories aren't explicitly Christian, they reflect the light and truth of the Bible in their pages. My second goal with writing is to provide stories filled with hope, because the sun always rises even after the darkest night.
